Hongkong – the memories
It was a last min arrangement.. chose HK for some reasons
Plane set off on Thurs morning
my plane was SQ, but i thought it was Cathay! *blur* was asked to get a gift for my boss’ birthday @ the DFS centre (cheaper mah).. waited for my colleague’s confirmation until was almost late for de plane!
Entering the “departure” centre. The place where we usually bid goodbye while he go for his overseas trip.. ![]()

Blending in with the flowers? =p

No window seat for me this time
i sat beside this uncle.. who kinda help me with some misc things (like taking out the remote control?) As much as i feel thankful (for his numerous help), i cant help but feel he’s kinda arrogant, you know.. tat kind of look.. :p
Reached HK abt 3.5hrs later. Heh, realised the uncle also in the same group! & then.. same hotel! -.-”" (The rest were of different hotels..)
As i walked down the different streets.. memories flowed in. It felt really real.. except tat tis time, he wasnt with me. His favourite Yoshinoya is still around
Only HK serves pork – his fav :p
There’s this famous dessert place – Xu Liu Shan. Tried their mango pomelo & sago dessert – thumbs up! I thought its pretty comparable to the one @ Bugis =p I guess, he would like the one in HK too – super lots of pomelo!!
Nightlife of HK is still pretty much the same..
The hotel i stayed in was pretty ooh lu though. Seriously, don’t like the location at all. Its like at some dark dark alley.. & not really near to the MTR station
Not convenient in my opinion.
Walking down tat ooh lu alley, i’ll walk past this Shell station without fail =p
& then see this poster everytime..
2nd day was with the group tour. Kinda similar to the one we wen 2yrs ago.. except there’s no Ocean Park this time
As usual.. always the main attraction – Repulse Bay:

Do you see the weird weird creature in the above pic? Heh. That’s the Marriage God/ Turtle (whatever u call it..). My colleague mention it earlier & said its a “die-die must touch” thingy, lol! How true it is, is up to you to believe..
The tour guide this round was def much better! 2yrs back.. gosh, tat tour guide totally.. disappoint us! He wasnt a least helpful
The 2nd attraction was – Lantau Island.
The journey there was.. super duper scary! Not only was the ride long… it was also bumpy & slopy.. & at super fast speed! *couldnt get to sleep*

The 256 steps to reach The Buddha!

Last stop – Avenue of Stars – very similar to Singapore’s Esplanade
I wouldnt know how beautiful HK is without coming here..

See those people peeping out from their room? Hee. They were waiting to catch the laser lights =p

I saw a guy posing like this statue.. if he was here, he would do the same too? Miss all his funny funny poses.. *memories*

The rest were Free & Easy days.. – my plan was to head to Wong Tai Sin Temple
remember the uncle which i mentioned earlier?
He & his friends wanted to go too!
Its their first time in HK.. So we wen to the temple together, on the 15th Day
What so great about this temple tat made me decide on this last min trip?
It is said that he punishes evils, heals the wounded, and rescues the dying. With his mercy and his power, he is said to grant whatever is requested. Wong Tai Sin Temple is known for its fortune-telling. The fortune sticks (or lots) in Wong Tai Sin Temple are very accurate. Many people who visit the temple come to have their fortunes told. Generally, worshippers entreat the fate of the same year. They light worship sticks, kneel before the main altar, make a wish, and shake a bamboo cylinder containing fortune sticks until one falls out. The stick is exchanged for a piece of paper bearing the same number, and the soothsayer then interprets the fortune on the paper for the worshipper.

Time was still early, so we had breakfast together, then coffee.
This place is so-called famous for their shao-er ![]()

In this trip, i was a part-time photographer for most of the couples! & a part-time tour guide for this uncle & his friends, lol~
No tips for me though. =p
Took a shot of one of the Yum-Cha Restaurant’s menu.. it amazed me! If you realise.. they charged differently for their tea @ different storeys!
If you sit @ the 1st storey – tea is $2/ pax.
If you sit @ the 2nd/3rd storey – tea is $3/pax.
Hmm.. interesting!
They were also showing cartoon.. :p

Tried this egg tart with bird nest – not too bad!

This Mexico fried cha shao bun was nothin special.. ![]()

Didnt do much of shopping as compared to last time. Bcos of different company? i dunno~ Did walk into the 1st shopping centre we entered to 2yrs back tho. The place, where we changed into couple tee (after buying from the Ladies Market), then took a Neoprint in tat tee-shirt, then bought couple slippers! *sweet memories*
2yrs back, our tour included Shenzhen, but we opt out. I tink it was a good decision? cos Shenzhen really disappoint me! (or maybe i had too high expectations?)
To go towards Shenzhen..

I thought this was rather unique? Heh.

While waiting for the railway train..

Everyone chiong to get out.. :/

This.. the so-called shopping centre..

Every shop is pretty much the same.. all selling imitation goods lor. I don’t like it there. Its quite scary too. This salesgal.. held on my hands so tightly & refused to let me go when i did not buy anythg from her
ahhh its my first & last time there!~~
I tink tat pretty sums up my (very last min) trip..
Upon reaching HK’s airport.. this announcement really sian 1/2: “your flight will be delayed for 2hours. There is still seats available in the earlier flight, do u wan?”
:(:(
Took the earlier flight & had to run (again!) in the end :p & guess wad.. was on de same flight as the uncle & his friends! -.-”"”
They concluded tat we really have yuan fen, lol~~ I realised, i don’t have a decent pic of them at all! *ahhh*
It was nice knowing them tho
Heh. On the plane back.. i requested for this drink:

Singapore Sling – the classic was created in 1915 at the Long Bar of Singapore’s Raffles Hotel and is now famous the world over. It is a concoction of dry gin, Dom Benedictine cointreau and cherry brandy, shaken up with lime and pineapple juice and a dash of Augostura bitters and Grenadine.
Mountain tortoise i am.. i seriously didnt know the above facts about SS! =p Only heard bout it when his dad commented one of his passenger, requested him to bring him to the place where SS originated from! &.. his dad thought its some bubble tea drink.., hehe -.-”
It was a nice experience.. walking down memory lane, reminiscing how things seem to fall naturally in place 2yrs back. Hongkong, will always remain etched as a memorable place in my heart. The place, where love grew..
Wo de xin, hai mo mo xiang nian zhe ta..
Maybe as long as he’s happy.. i’ll feel happy one day. Maybe..
